Some Challenges on the Road to Financial Independence

Based on a real and not hypothetical journey

The road to financial independence is filled with potholes, temporarily derailing even the best-formulated intentions. For many individuals, investing is either a win/win or lose/lose proposition.

In retrospect, winning or losing is an integral part of the journey. The mantra of buying low and selling high can be a fantasy since most investors have had the opposite experience.

Our mindset can significantly influence our ability to achieve financial independence. Some questions to ponder are the following:

Who is responsible for our success or failure in investing?

What are the four key components of wealth building?

What factor is as essential as compounding in one’s journey to financial independence?

How can we increase the odds in our favor?

Some answers to the above questions are the following:

The person you see in the mirror is the only person responsible for your success or failure in any endeavor.
