How Does Math Really Impact Our Investing Outcomes?

How a math phobic succeeded in the world of investing. Although many individuals believe that expertise in math is a prerequisite for investing in the stock market, it may simply be one aspect of the decision-making process.

Some Historical Insights

From my youth, mathematics has been a frustrating subject. Although I mastered the basics, higher levels of math were always a challenge for me.

In high school, my parents asked a friend, who was a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) graduate in math, to help me overcome this deficit. He was amazed how my mind processed mathematical calculations.

In college, I faced another obstacle in this realm, statistics. It took two attempts, but I finally received a passing grade, and it was not with high honors.

Rationale For This Introduction

There are many reasons WHY individuals are afraid of managing their money and/or investments. In my opinion, an aversion to math is often one of the main reasons underlying this problem.
